Re: Offence relating to Pressing the Claim
Whereas
it appears that many persons and groups of person press the claim from farmers by
ruthless and illegal means without regard to law enforcement of government
officials and sanction to be imposed thereon.
The National Council for Peace and Order therefore, in order to keep on
national security and public order, notify as follows:
Whoever
compels a farmer, in the course of pressing the claim, to provide any property for himself or for another person by any
act of violence, or by placing that person in the state of fear of injury to
life, body, liberty, reputation or property of that person or of another
person, until that farmer has to do so, shall be liable to imprisonment for a
term of not more than two years, or to a fine of not exceeding forty thousand
Baht, or to both.
This
Notification shall come into force from now on.
